CODE OF CONDUCT

Students are our backbone and we always try to make decisions with their best interests in mind. Creative Hut is based on an ancient Indian concept of education, the Gurukul System, wherein the students get knowledge by residing with their guru (teacher) as part of their family.  They should obey the Guru (faculty) and should act according to norms at all times. For better life in Gurukulam, better future and better photography life, we need to follow some manners and rules. The rules and regulations and code of conduct are meant for the smooth working of the Institute. However, matters not covered in these existing rules will rest at the absolute decision of the Institute.  

Discipline

Obedience is better than sacrifice.

  • Every student must attend classes regularly according to the timetables provided, in which a minimum of 85% attendance for each unit is required.
  • Students must attend the classes by guest lecturer or visiting faculty, the outdoor sessions or tours which will be informed to students with prior notice.
  • Students have to be punctual in attending theory and practical classes. Must study to the best of their ability and work out for the assigned work on time.
  • Students have to compulsorily attend and clear in all the regular activities conducted by the institute such as exams, practical tests, assignments and projects.
  • Students must prepare and submit the portfolio on the scheduled dates of submission.
  • Follow the above 4 and 5 examination terms and conditions, as it counts for being eligible for the particular certificate.
  • Students must be attentive in the classes and must not disturb the class or become a nuisance in any manner.
  • All co-curricular activities including conferences, seminars, outdoor, studio shots, exhibitions, competitions, etc... are compulsory to attend which are designed for learning by doing and experiencing.
  • Cell Phones / mobiles must be put off during the class sessions. Use of mobile phones and equivalent electronics in institute and hostel are limited.
  • Students must follow institute rules and should maintain discipline during indoor classes, outdoor classes, shoots, projects, tours and institute’s various activities, etc…
  • Students are expected to dress up in a decent and dignified manner always for bringing in them the professionalism during their course duration and even for their future professional.
  • Identity cards and uniforms will be issued to the professional diploma batch students. Every student must dress up in the prescribed Uniform on all working days, institute activities, outdoors, shoots, tours, projects etc… and wear the identity card in person.
  • Students must well behave with all. Respect and obey the faculties and staff.
  • The time allotted for daily activities, class structures, hostel timings, games, reading, shopping, leisure time, internet usage, marketing through social networks, etc… as instructed by the institute must be followed by every student.
  • The class room, studio, premises of institute, surroundings, hostel or residential area, food cafeteria, etc…, must be kept clean and tidy. Students are expected to take proper care of institute property and help the institute authorities in keeping the premises clean.
  • Smoking, Drinking and Drugs are not allowed in the Institute Campus, Gurukulam, residential area and food area. Students must not be involved in consuming these and or must not be a mediator for the supply of cigarettes, alcohol, drugs and any of such products else strict actions will be taken against them.
  • Students must not follow any mischievous behavior such as use of abusing words, immoral activities, robbery, quarrels and vulgar malpractices in the campus; it’s surrounding, class rooms, studio, outdoor sessions and tours.
  • Students are supposed to take proper care of their equipment and handle safely the equipments and properties of institute with at most care.
  • Students are supposed to act responsibly during tours, indoor and outdoor shoots and safeguard their lives and equipments. Any lack in this resulting in to any disasters, will not be the responsibility of the institute.
  • Students are supposed to safeguard their camera, other equipments and their other precious materials. Institute will not be responsible for the loss or damage in those materials.
  • Cameras, other equipments, studio materials, electronic devises, furniture and property of institute are to be handled with utmost care; any damage caused will be recovered fully from the concerned student.
  • Students need to travel or have the tour for photography assignments and practices. In this case students are strictly instructed to follow the rules and obey the respective faculty.
  • The travelling cost, accommodation, food cost and the entry fees for the respective locations during the outdoor sessions or during the tours will be equally shared by the students.
  • Other expenses for students include Uniform cost, expense for the photography exhibition, printing charges, travelling cost etc…
  • Student shall not involve in any sort of collection of money or make any contribution for tour, trip, any visit to some place, get-together, printing charges, study materials, donation, charity or any other activity without prior permission of the Principal.
  • Students should take proper care of their books, valuables and other belongings. It should not be left in the classroom or anywhere in the institute or campus area. Institute will not be responsible for any loss or damage of such properties. However, Student need to report it to the institute and collect it from Institute Office if found.
  • Student should not communicate any data or information or write about any matters dealing with the Institute administration, courses, information of other fellow students, about faculties, etc… to any individual, group, college, institute, university, company, press or media without prior permission of the Institute.
  • No student must associate themselves with any activity not authorized or approved by the Principal / Institute. All institute activities are organized under the guidance of faculties and approval from the institute. Hence, institute will not be responsible for any participation of any student in the illegal activities and or the activities not approved by the institute. Strict actions will be taken against those students found violating this.
  • Students are expected not to practice any racially or sexually offensive behavior. Else strict action will be taken against and the decision of the institute administration will be final.
  • It is the responsibility of every student to read the notice boards regularly for important announcements made by the Institute from time to time. An excuse or claim for any concession due to not reading notices or ignoring it will not be entertained.
  • Any further changes in the course curriculum, fee structure, procedure, duration and processes which may have to be modified from time to time by the Institute will be applicable to all students from the time of commencement of changes.

Disciplinary Actions

  • If attendance is below 85%, students may be suspended, not allowed to appear the examinations and practical / projects, or both. If students are unable to attend class for any reason, the lecturer and the institute should be notified explaining the circumstances with their leave application. If a student is absent for more than one week due to illness or any other medical reasons then a proof of medical certificate must be produced.
  • Unnecessary use or mischievous behavior using cell phones or equivalent electronic devices is punishable.
  • Violation of the above said rules and regulations by any student or group of students will lead to dismissal of the candidature from the institute without any further notice or refunds or strict actions will be taken against those found guilty.
  • Any misbehave with any faculty, classmates, other batch students, staff and even outsider or if any act is in against the norms of Creative Hut Gurukulam then the Institute has the right to take appropriate disciplinary actions.
  • Damaging the institute properties such as walls, doors, tables, chairs, furniture, studio equipments, cameras, computers, lights and fans, misuse of any fittings, wash rooms, etc., is violation of discipline, and the student found guilty will be duly punished and or charged fine.
  • The damage or loss of any camera, camera equipments, electronic equipments, books, files, chairs and tables, etc… of the institute in any manner will result in the payment of the fine by the student found responsible for the cause or the whole batch will be finned as per the decision of the management of the institute.
  • In case any kind of indiscipline or misbehave of student with any Staff or Management occurs, then the institute management reserves the right to suspend or even expel those student from the institute & hostel.
  • Disciplinary action will be taken against any student at any time found guilty of misconduct. Disobedience and improper language or misconduct on the part of a student might lead to his/her suspension or dismissal from the institute without any negotiation, explanation or refunds.
  • Misuse of institute id-cards, uniform, name and logo, etc... will result in charging a strict action and can even lead to the cancellation of the admission of the respective student.
  • Behaviors such as violence, threat of violence, deliberate damage to property, harassment, threats, dishonesty, cheating, robbery, theft, or other illegal activities will not be tolerated and anyone found guilty for the same will either be suspended from the institute and or further investigation will be performed.

The decision of the Institute administration is final. The disciplines, disciplinary actions, revisions on course syllabus, course fees, residential fees, activities, schedules and duration is subject to review and change. Students / parents must obey all the rules of Gurukulam and will be amended from time to time. The new students joining the Institute are bound by the rules and regulations of the Institute.
