Always turn off automatic flash off when you are getting ready to take a picture and ulitilize as much as natural light in the picture. You also have an option to move your dish towards a window or take it outside to get enough light in your photograph. You have to plan a little before you start  cooking your dinner  because the  sun goes  down at 6.30pm ,and if your dinner won’t be until 7 pm, probably you won’t able to get a well lit picture

Pay attention to the whole image which includes the background not just the food. If the back ground is showing some weird items like sink full of dirty dishes you must move your dish over slightly to some other background .Another thing to avoid in photography is color clash for example you have just made a delicious looking salad and you don’t want to photograph it on a green plate because the colors may clash and it doesn’t looks pretty

Another thing to keep in mind while photographing a dish to try the different angles to take photos. Taking pictures from various angles will give different and unique appearance to images. Attempt diverse points as much as could be expected.

Always remember to fill the entire frame, and you must frame your dish slightly off center in an artistic manner.Pay attention to what you see in the image as you photograph and depending upon the type of your lens you may need to back up or move towards the food. You don’t want to be too closer to the food while taking the photograph.

Before  you take the photos don’t forget to garnish the food ,it will give a beautiful  and colourful apperence to the photos. And, after you've take a few pictures, take a nibble or cut a piece off so the photo looks like the food is in the process of being eaten. All these little details can make your photography more funny.
