PY 1713 : LIGHTING LANGUAGE & COLOUR MANIPULATION
PDPP 103
The Lighting Language
Light is the fundamental ingredient in photography . Photography was originally created by combining the Greek words for light (phos) and drawing (graphein).
A photographer captures light particles on a light-sensitive medium. When you click the shutter, light enters your camera, which transfers the image it hits onto your film or transforms into electric signals that then become the pixels in your digital photograph. Without light, there would be no photographs. Natural light photography uses sunlight as a light source. The available light from sunlight varies with the time of the day. A sunny day provides bright light, whereas an overcast day may offer a sense of texture and nuance to a photo.
Lighting plays an important role in photography. Knowing how to use different types of light sources and lighting setups will help you get better results. It can bring a photo to life, it can create effects, including spectacular shadows, silhouettes, or it can have a distinct negative effect by creating unwanted glare and reflection. Add more dimension, shape and emotions to your photos with Abin Sir's photography lighting techniques and choosing the right lighting equipment.
