The Artistic Excellence – Kathakali

-

As part of Travel and Culture Photography, Here is the beautiful photo series made on Kathakali Artiste by our author.

“ The objective behind an art is capturing one’s heart ”

In the world of art, it is believed that Kathakali originated from Krishnanattam a dance dedicated to Lord Krishna’s life and activities. Moreover, this was created by the Zamorin of Calicut Sri. Manavedan Raja during 1585 – 1658 – AD.  Furthermore, the term Kathakali is derived from Katha (Sanskrit) which means story or a conversation of a traditional tale, and kali which means performance and art.

Hence, here are the photographs of an artiste how he gets ready for an act.

Forthwith, the king of Kottayam kingdom popularized the art form worldwide. Along with that, it includes a series of performances which include Totayam and Purappatu performances. Hence, the importance of the traditional art form of Kathakali mainly attracts tourists because of its epic story.
