FLUTTERS IN WINDS

As for some of the birds I only cared to take single photos, while resting I started following their movements. Of them I wanted to study the daily routine. How do they start the day in the morning, their feeding habits, their other activities and the way they end the day. There began a feeling in my mind that if I could capture each of these moments it would fulfill my heart with happiness, satisfaction and joy.

The very first bird that got into my frame was a Purple Heron. The first sighting was him sitting somewhere over the bush.

The very next moment he started cleaning himself over and over again. The feathers were like some ornaments in light. The morning light gave the feathers extra beauty. The most fascinating thing I felt about this bird was its neck. I was spell bound by the way it stretched and contracted. What a creation by the almighty?I started to go behind his trails.

Masters of the Sky

The beauties of flight that is what I like to call birds. These aves have started to roam around the earth back from the early ages. The process of evolution has modified them into various shapes and sizes but each of them differs in its own way. There is nothing more eye cathing and breath taking scene than to see a bird in its aerial movement. They are one of the best creations ever made by God because they are the only ones who can fly. Even though human beings are the supreme of all they are not able to fly on their own. They may have authority over the land and water but not the skies atleast not yet.

Red Wattlea Lapwing

Birds have always fascinated us with their power to be in flight and also their diversity. They are present all over the world. The unhealthy use of the environment by the human beings has resulted in their endangerment and extinction Due to these reasons the invaders of the skies are at a big risk. As humans what can we do to preserve these winged beauties?.

Unseen Wings, Unspoken Bonds

Wake up everyone, it’s time to act. If we dont do it now maybe our next generation wouldn’t even know that such life forms even existed on the very earth they live on. Save them.

To the best of my knowledge I am not even bothered about birds at first. Even I dont know what made me get attracted to them. I started to gain more and more information about them. More and more of this I was more likely to become some sort of bird researcher or bird enthusiast or whatever you would like to call me. At present at this right movement I can frankly say that knowing about them will get you involved in their world. It started as it want to photograph every bird at sight and then it became like I went in search of the varieteies that existed at least all over Kerala.

Indian Golden Oriole

I decided to go on in search of their beautiful world and want to explore the world of aves and capture their most beautiful moments.I travelled all across Kerala to frame the auspicious events in the kingdom of birds, and through personal contacts with bird experts, I came to know that the journey should begin at a location called Punchapadam in the village of Sashthamkallu. This place is indeed a heaven when it comes to birds. After being so much into the bird field and if I have not visited this place it would have been a great mistake from my part of work.

Morning Melodies and Winged Whispers in a Kerala Village

I think he understood that he was being photo- graphed and maybe that’s the reason why he gave me so much of poses in a wide variety of angles. I was at the peak of my happiness. A typical Kerala village in its most pure form. Calm and quiet with some villagers here and there. The village received the early morning sunrise as we receive them with the bell chimes. The only difference here was that instead of bell chimes I heard the chirps and calls of birds.

It was a very pleasant feeling to hear the variety songs of birds early in the morning. Like a bed coffee refreshes our day from the very start I felt refreshed. Maybe its because for past few days the only thing I am into is birds. From morning to eve ning all I do think about is them and their world. I started walking across the fields. I could see so many variety of birds perching on the tree tops and many others searching for food.

Becoming One with the Flock

I took out the camera from my bag and started clicking the most amazing movements. To the best of ay saprime those birds werent even disturbed by my presence. I believed that the reason for that is because now at this very moment I am standing I am thinking like a bird, I am moving like a bird. I feel myself one among them opening the wide wings and ready to fly. Never stop flying, as you dont know what is waiting for you on the other side pent some more time over there. Maybe its because the time I reached was very early in the morning and that is the reason I got so many frames of wide varieties.

I did not waste even a single second of my time searching for new and new species. The best part of the hours went by like minutes and I was not even aware of that. Earlier if started to do something continuously for a long duration I used to get bored but this was the first time ever in my life I was not at all bored even for a moment. That much was the satisfaction I received in this particular field of area. I only came to know that the day was about to end when the light went down. I quickly packed the bag and left the place. The very next day early in the morning I got out in search of new destinations.

When the Lens and Soul Align

This time in Kerala as per the information I got it was more likely a bird season. The main attraction here was the presence of migratory birds from other parts of the world. The climatic condition of Kerala was appropriate for birds all throughout the year. It was not only for bird but also for every other living things. The next location was fixed as Alleppy. Known for its richness in backwaters and paddy fields it is known as the Venice of the East. Alleppy or also known as Alappuzha in the region- al language of Malayalam not only in the case of backwaters but also in the case of bird sightings.

The widely scattered paddy fields is a home to variety of birds mainly the ones native to the state of Kerala. Reached there even before the mighty sun. This time I wanted to get the action even before they know. I waited for the first sunlight to fall on my head. The mild rays that fell on the sur- face of the backwaters is a must see sight. I took my steps slowly through the narrow passage I saw between the paddy lands. I could hear the sound of birds and even could spot some of them. There were songs, cries, calls, chirps and many others.

Pheasant Taild Jacana

I tried to trail some of the sounds as they were much more pleasing than the others as far as I am concerned, Walking behind these creatures now I almost feel like one among them. It feels like now I too have wings so that I could fly high above the skies.

A Tiny Tale of Purpose and Passion

I continued my expedition and that is the moment when I came across another small little bird. After the very first look I was astonished by the beauty. It was small and yellow in colour. I could see he was busy making his nest. I did see his hardwork and compassion in making his home.

For every living thing on this planet a home of its own is a dream. The home is the place where life starts so none wants to just build it for the sake of it because it is the place where new life starts and gets to know the new world.

This particular bird was very much involved in his work. He wandered here and there in search of the raw materials to build his nest.

That was the best experience I ever had in my whole life. The world of birds is not getting to an end, it has only just begun.
