Script of Our Little Rome

Script of Song called “Our Little Rome”. Screen play of Song is shooted in St.Thomas College, Palai. Directed and DOP by Prathamesh Mutekar

1. EXT. CAMPUS Garden  – Day Morning

Its clam morning Friends group setting in collage campus garden

[Joyal,Vishnu,Nihal,Athira,Sana,Sara]

[JOYAL stands up, holding his guitar. The group, comprising NIHAL, VISHNU, ATHIRA, SARA, and SANA, quiets down, curious about what he is about to sing.]

JOYAL

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a song. It’s about Rome, but as I sing it, imagine our campus is Rome itself. Just close your eyes and let your mind wander.

{The group smiles and nods, curious. Joyal begins to sing softly. As he sings, Nihal starts recording with his camera, capturing the serene atmosphere of their campus. Vishnu, lost in the music, imagines the scene Joyal describes.}

2. EXT. CAMPUS – DAY MORNING

The song will start with the music [The full campus will show with drone shot]

3. EXT. CAMPUS Garden  – Day MORNING 

{Joyal continues singing.} 

{SARA lifts her head from her sketchpad, inspired by the imagery in Joyal’s song. She starts a new sketch, blending the campus buildings with ancient Roman architecture.}

(How beautiful you are, Rome, when it is evening

when the moon is reflected in the great fountain

and the couples go home)

4. EXT. COLLEGE ENTRANCE – Day Morning

 [entrance of collage gate the buses is coming in college] 

(How beautiful you are, Rome, when it’s raining.

How grand you are, Rome, when it’s sunset)

5. EXT. SWIMMING POOL – Day Morning

 [Students enjoying in swimming pool or cleaning staff cleaning the pool]

(when the sun still reddens on the seven hills

and the windows are so many eyes

that seems to say how beautiful you are.)

6. EXT. PLAYGROUND – Day Morning

 [Students are playing football in playground]

(Today it seems to me that

time has stopped here,)

7. EXT. GARDEN – Day Morning

 [Students setting in garden with books]

(I see the majesty of the Colosseum, I see the sanctity of St. Peter’s Dome,

and I am more alive and I am more openhearted)

8. INT. CLASSROOM – Day Morning

 [Students are setting in class and teacher are teaching]

(no, I’ll never leave you

Rome, the head of the infamous world,)

 [Students are taking the books from library and setting in library and reading the books]

(A small coach passes with two foreigners

a junk collector asks you for some rags,)

 [Students doing practicals in lab with proper uniform]

(The awful sparrows are nightingales;

I was born in Rome)

 [Joyal finishes the song. As the last note fades, the group bursts into applause, their hearts full of appreciation for Joyal’s heartfelt performance.]

SANA

You know, Joyal, this song makes me realize how much our campus means to me. It’s our own little Rome, filled with history and memories.

JOYAL

(smiling and nodding) -Exactly, Sana. That’s what I wanted to capture. Every place has its own beauty, and sometimes we just need to see it through a different lens.

VISHNU

That was incredible, Joyal. You’ve really made me see our campus in a whole new light.

JOYAL

Thanks, everyone. I’m glad you liked it. Let’s make the most of our own little Rome while we’re here.

[The friends continue to chat and laugh, the song having brought them even closer together. The camera pans out, capturing the picturesque campus that, in their hearts, will forever be their own version of Rome.]
