Kerala’s cultural heritage is centuries old. The culture of Kerala is an amalgam of native art forms. Kerala is a land of arts and festivals. It has everything to entertain people all over the world.
Kerala is notable for its different types of performing arts. The different networks in Kerala add to its rich and brilliant culture. Mayura is a Sanskrit word for peacock. Female dancers, by and large, perform one of the traditional dances of South India, Mayilattam / Mayoora Nritham, in Hindu temples in Kerala and Tamil Nadu largely to venerate Lord Subrahmanya. The name means the dance of the peacock. Performers dressed up and traveling on a peacock depict Lord Subrahmanya, decking their dress with peacock feathers. Mayoora Northam is an artistic and religious form of dance performed in the Hindu temples of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
