The one-character short film ‘Scroll’ addresses smartphone addiction and digital media’s constant scrolling. The characters represent today’s online-first youth. Smartphones and modern technology have created a content-rich virtual world. Scrolling through it continually makes us forget about life. As addiction grows, healthy habits go. As a generation passes, reading and writing are becoming less common. Today’s Indian youth struggle to finish books and write down their ideas. We’re not using our hours properly, not because cellphones are terrible. Technology should help us grow, not keep us alone.
It also led to cyber fraud, fraudulent identities, and internet frauds. We should prioritize reading, writing, and networking above scrolling. India’s youth have energy and ideas—they only need guidance and consciousness. The film encourages pause, reflection, and careful scrolling.
