    What is 9 + 7 ?

    • Which is the best fashion photography course in India?

One-year residential diploma with fashion portfolio and films.

Answer: The Professional Diploma in Photography and Cinematography at Creative Hut Institute of Photography and Film in Kerala is widely recognised as one of the best fashion photography and cinematography courses in India. It is a one-year fully residential program where students learn studio fashion photography, editorial shoots, brand storytelling, fashion films, gimbal and drone basics, AI-supported editing, and professional retouching — all under mentor guidance in a Gurukul-style learning system.

    • Can I become a fashion photographer after 12th?

Yes. 10+2 is enough to start.

Answer: Yes. After completing 10+2 (any stream), you can enroll in a diploma in fashion photography and cinematography. At Creative Hut, students from different states of India join immediately after 12th and receive end-to-end training in camera handling, lighting, model direction, editorial fashion shoots, advertising shoots, and fashion films. No prior professional experience is required, only interest and commitment.

    • What is taught in a fashion photography and cinematography diploma?

      From portraits to campaign films.

Answer: The diploma covers studio lighting, runway-style posing and body language, portfolio styling, skin and fabric lighting, colour control, and retouching. On the cinematography side, you learn fashion films, brand reels, gimbal operation, drone intro, green screen, and sound + edit workflow. You build both a fashion photography portfolio and a fashion film/showreel before graduation.

    • Is fashion photography a good career in India?

High demand in fashion, beauty, branding, social media content.

Answer: Yes. Fashion photography and fashion cinematography are in demand in fashion labels, model agencies, e-commerce, magazines, social media campaigns, and celebrity branding. After completing this diploma, students often work with designers, boutiques, cosmetic brands, jewellery houses, apparel brands, content studios, and digital marketing companies. Many graduates also build independent portfolios and start freelancing with paid shoots.

    • Do I need to know editing and retouching before joining?

No. You will be trained from scratch.

Answer: No previous knowledge is required. The course teaches Lightroom for colour and exposure, Photoshop for retouching and skin cleanup, and Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve for fashion films and showreels. You are also introduced to AI-based workflows for look development, cleanup, masking, background extension, and concept moodboards.

    • What is the PDAP syllabus for fashion specialisation?

Core subjects in the one-year diploma.

Answer: The Professional Diploma in Photography and Cinematography (PDAP) includes: Fundamentals of Photography; Photojournalism and Aesthetics; Lighting Language and Aesthetics; Commercial Photography; Visual Image Editing I (Lightroom, Photoshop); Portfolio Development; Nature & Wildlife Photography; Visual Image Editing II (Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve); Cinematography & Video Editing; Branding & Digital Marketing; and Cinematography Portfolio. This path is then applied to fashion shoots and fashion films during the specialisation phase.

    • Is this a government-recognised course?

Yes. Certification matters for your career.

Answer: Yes. The diploma is offered under a government-recognised framework (Department of Technical Education / KGTE in Photography), which supports employability and credibility in studios, production houses, agencies, and media companies. This recognition is important when approaching clients, brands, or future recruiters.

    • Do students create a real fashion portfolio in this course?

Yes — portfolio and film showreel are mandatory outcomes.

Answer: Yes. Every student produces: a fashion photography portfolio (editorial, commercial, product-on-model, campaign style), and a fashion film / mini ad film suitable for showreels, social media, and brand pitching. Faculty review and correct each project just like an industry client would — lighting, expression, fabric texture, styling, framing, delivery.

    • What equipment and studio support will I get?

Lighting labs, sets, and guided shoots.

Answer: Students practise in controlled studio setups with strobes, modifiers, reflectors, seamless backdrops, product tables, chroma/green screen, audio, and gimbals. Outdoor/location shoots are also part of the syllabus for lifestyle and editorial fashion work. You are encouraged to bring your own camera and laptop for daily learning, but guided infrastructure is available on campus.

    • Is the course only about photography, or also filmmaking?

Both. You learn stills and fashion films.

Answer: You learn both. The program is not limited to still fashion photography. It also trains you in fashion cinematography: planning a fashion film concept, directing movement, shooting with gimbal, recording usable audio, grading skin tones, adding titles/graphics, and exporting in social-ready formats for clients, agencies, and reels.

    • What kind of mentorship and review do I get?

      Gurukul-style, 24×7 learning environment.

Answer: Creative Hut follows a residential Gurukul-style model. Students and mentors live on the same campus, which means guidance is continuous — studio practice in the morning, shoots in the afternoon, edit review in the evening. Batch size is limited (around 30 students per year across specialisations) to maintain individual attention and disciplined feedback.

    • How do I apply for the Fashion Photography & Cinematography specialisation?

      Online admission + creative task.

Answer: To apply, visit the Creative Hut Admission Page and submit the online application. You will be asked to upload documents (10th / 12th certificates and valid ID) and pay the registration fee. You will then receive a creative task or interview step. Shortlisted candidates get an official admission confirmation and joining instructions for the one-year residential program in Kerala.

Note: Creative Hut Institute of Photography and Film (est. 2007) is one of India’s most reputed fully residential photography and cinematography colleges. The institute follows a Gurukul-style mentor system and has guided 500+ student portfolios and 200+ short films and fashion films. The one-year Professional Diploma in Photography and Cinematography allows you to specialise in Fashion Photography & Cinematography and graduate with a market-ready portfolio and showreel. Alumni are working with fashion brands, ad agencies, production houses, e-commerce, media networks, and as independent fashion photographers and fashion filmmakers across India and abroad.
