Is there an entrance exam?

No. Admission is first come, first served. You enquire, talk to a counsellor, submit your documents and confirm your seat. No test, no merit list.

Do I need a background in film or photography?

No prior technical experience is required. A genuine interest and a Class 12 pass in any stream are enough to start, and graduates are welcome.

Is it residential?

Yes. It is a one-year fully residential programme at the academy’s campus in Mattakkara, Kottayam, Kerala, with hostels for boys and girls.

Which diploma should I choose?

There are two one-year residential diplomas, and both teach AI. The Professional Diploma in the Art of Photography and Cinematography builds on camera and craft. The Professional Diploma in AI Filmmaking and Digital Cinematography is built around AI filmmaking. Each course page explains the difference.
