    of Photography

Good is what your imagination makes of it, but great is usually what reality gives you. To get great photos, you need to go out into the field and look at the world with your eye prepared to overcome challenges and find a good story. Improve your skills through working with a master photographer or professional photographer who can teach you new techniques.

Great photography doesn't just involve knowing about how lenses and aperture sizes work. It’s all about creative problem solving under realistic conditions. To take great photographs, you need to know how to use the right tools or apply the right techniques to capture your subject in a good light. By exploring, and practicing, the same skills, techniques, and tips used by experienced photographers in the field, you can improve your photography no matter what your subject. You can transform yourself from a bad photographer into a great one by practicing and honing your skills.

Understanding the basics of digital photography and DSLR camera settings are the key factors of this module. Hence, here you learn to control the important features namely exposure, color, color temperature white balance, focus, and Depth of field.

    UNIT - I

What makes a photograph memorable?. Photographs are more important than just snapshots. Every picture needs to have at least three things that set it apart from any old snapshot.  They're dramatic statements that can last forever when taken correctly.

    UNIT - II

Learn how to become an expert at using this critical tool of photography.  You’ll discover when to use fast or slow shutter speeds, study each speed’s unique effects, and uncover different techniques—such as panning and ghosting—that can add great artistic touches.

    UNIT - III
    Color Science & Color Management

Most photographers don't understand how color works in photography. You don't need a science degree to become a successful photographer. But having some knowledge will help you make the best use of it. Color photography combines artistry, science, and culture. Hence, learn it.

    PDPF 102
    Visual Language
    and Aesthetics

First, consider the dominant role of visual perception in the way we perceive and understand the world. We need to examine our visual experience and the ways we choose to see things. They affect how we think, feel and act. Train yourself to carefully observe what you're seeing, and to explore the world visually through your other senses.

Photography is defined as an art or practice of taking pictures and processing them. Beauty in photography is how people typically describe beauty in this form of artistic expression. There exist various ways in which aesthetics may be defined by different people. There does not exist any single consensus on what it means. The general idea is that photographs that are pleasing to the eye are considered to be more aesthetically beautiful than others. Different people find different things pleasing or displeasing.

An average individual may simply be concerned with how soothing a picture is, whereas a professional food photographer may be looking at the color scheme, the composition, and any additional meanings that can be derived from the picture. A professional product photographer may be wondering how difficult a particular photo was to take or process, the sharpness and color contrast of the image, or whether the ‘rules of thumb’ in photography have been maintained for the shot. These issues make the measurement of aesthetic appeal in pictures or photographs extremely difficult.

    UNIT - I

Visual syntax is the basis for visual language. How do you truly enjoy the beauty of the three-dimensional world around you? Composition is the second building block of photography. In order to understand how framing works, consider a series of pictures.

    UNIT - II
    Depth and Form

Frames. Leading lines. Your subject's eyes. Layers. Learn how paying attention and using these and other compositional tools, such as perspective, focal length, and depth of field, can isolate the true subject in your photo and add a sense of dimension.

    UNIT - III
    Visual Literacy

What is real? To begin to answer the question, look into representation, how we value artists' abilities to create the illusion that things exist when they really don't. Photography changes our perception of reality, and we often view photographs as "truth" - but they're not necessarily true.

    PDPF 103

    UNIT - II
    The Language
    of Light
