    Learn to create stunning visuals.

    There are several fundamental concepts that form the basis of photography. These include exposure triangle, aperture, shutter speed, iso, focus, white balance etc.

    To summarize, the curriculum is designed for the students to understand the fundamentals of Camera, Lighting languages, and Mastering Travel photography. Furthermore, they also learn travel Video Journalism, Digital Image Editing, Digital Marketing, and English language for communication Skills.

    Students here learn to use their equipment and camera in the most appropriate manner. Beyond settings in DSLR cameras, students learn to make maximum use of those settings in different conditions. They not only learn to operate their digital camera beyond the auto setting but also apply the apt settings in different scenarios. Capturing photos beyond the classroom to successfully complete photo assignments. Definitely, it makes the students take the first step towards their later travel photography.

    UNIT - I
    INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY

    The first unit covers photography, which is the art of capturing images with a camera, usually through a digital sensor or film. We teaches them the most important basics of photography, starting from scratch.

    UNIT - II
    EXPOSURE - APERTURE, SHUTTER, ISO

    You can set your camera to auto and take great pictures, but you still won’t know the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. What's important to remember is that to maintain the same exposure when changing one of these settings you must change another with an equal value.

    UNIT - III
    Color Science & Color Management

    There are two main aspects of color in photography to understand. One is ‘additive color’ and the other is ‘subtractive color’. Additive color theory is about things that emit light. Subtractive color theory is about light reflecting off things.

    The understanding of Visual language has much priority in Travel Photography. The classes in this module undergo various rules in photography that need to be applied in travel photography, landscape photography, nature photography, portrait photography, street, and documentary photography.

    In photography, aesthetics refers to the characteristics that immediately stand out from observer. These characteristics may include colors, light, compositions, lines, or your choices of subjects and how an observer feels looking at your photographs.

    Communication

    Visual communication is a form of communication that uses visuals rather than words to convey ideas or meanings.Visible language helps users understand visual images. Visual languages are applicable for any thing that has a visual representation to a mass communication.

    UNIT - II
    Composition

    Learning the techniques for taking better travel photographs by adding depth and form. How to add foregrounds, midgrounds, and backgrounds, and also add the elements and principles of composition.

    Travel Photo Journalism

    Travel photojournalism is a particular type of journalism that collects, edits, and presents travel news stories by creating images. Learn to make students travel and take photos so they can write major forms of photo journalism.

    The foundation of Lighting Language

    The direction and softeness of the light can be manipulated to create different effects and emotions in a photograph.

    This module of lighting helps the students understand the characteristics and physics of light. Travel Photography deals with natural light at the most. But, understanding artificial light is equally important. On a positive note, each of us needs to understand the light that is been recorded or captured in our images.

    Hence, here students understand the nature and characteristics of light, the natural light, types of artificial light, the direction of light. In addition, they study how the camera sees light, how to cope with difficult and low light conditions, and much more.

    The Physics and Aesthetics of Light

    Photography lighting is both physics and art. The right lighting makes people look better than they really are, while bad lighting makes them look worse than they really are.

    The Language
    of Light

    Light in photography refers how the light source, which could be natural or artificial, relates to your subject. Light affects everything from clarity to tone to emotions and so much more. It can even affect your final photos.

    Do you want to be a travel filmmaker? Do you want to be able to create videos that are exciting, entertaining, and educational?. This course will teach you the foundational tools you'll need to plan, film, and edit your next travel video.

    Start a career in film industry. Learn digital cinematography. Become an expert at camera handling, lighting. How to shoot so that editing is easier and better. Travel Video journalism helps students understand the context of an event by framing it within the context of the relative objects, concepts and design elements. Travel journalists usually report on things that are specific to that place, and they do so in a way which conveys the facts.

    To become a travel videographer, film maker, cinematographer, you need to love traveling, shooting and writing. You need to be articulate and skilled at communication. And obviously you need to enjoy traveling, meeting new people, researching facts, crafting a compelling story from them, and writing. Don't know anything about creating and editing travel videos?     Individuals at this job need to determine the visual style of the production. They finalize locations and equipment that will be used. During shoots, they guide efforts of the camera crew and collaborate with lighting and grips to capture the desired look for the end-product.

    MES/ Q 0903 Assistant Cameraman (NSQF Level 4)

    Individuals at this job are responsible to mark focus lengths based on the required composition and focus and refocus the camera lenses during shoots. They are also responsible to set-up/dismantle camera equipment.

You are a photographer because it's your job to communicate those words through your picture. We help students take pictures that tell stories.     Firstly, the Mastering the art of Travel Photography course introduces the students to the history, prominent forms, styles, techniques, practice, and ethical concerns of Travel Photography. Secondly, the course explores thematic and narrating visual constructions. Therefore, students here get a wide approach to different aspects of travel photography. 

    As travel photographers, our goal is to capture the essence of our experiences during our travels and bring those experiences to life for those who view our photographs.  We are storytellers and our camera is our pen and paper.  Great travel photographers won’t just make you want to visit a location when you see their photographs, they will make you feel like you already know what it is like to be there. You can take landscape images of the places you visit, portraits of the people you meet or architecture photos of the buildings you see.

    Nature and Wildlife Photography

    Wildlife photography requires a keen eye and a deep interest in nature. It requires a willingness from the photographer to immerse themselves in their surroundings. This unit covers how to capture them.

    UNIT - II
    Street and Portrait Photography

    Learn how to take better digital photographs by learning technical and creative skills. A good street photo has a clearly defined subject. A street photograph is a real moment. It captures a moment in time.

    UNIT - III
    Documentary and Black and White Photography

    Black and white photography is mythic. But when you photograph people in black and white, you photograph not just their bodies but their souls too!. We teach the students how to capture the soul of people.

    PY1718 INDUSTRIAL INTERNSHIP (If You are opting KGTE In Photography also)

    The student should undertake an industrial internship at any photographic studio /media organisation/ film Industry or related industrial establishment/professionals etc.

    Travel Photography Tour

    Traveling is the highlight and key factor of the travel photography course. Our travel photography tour enables our students to explore more locations and understand different cultures and people. Indeed, they learn to express those moments in the best possible way of travel photojournalism and travel video journalism.This session is indeed the favorite session of the students that they eagerly wait for. Thereupon, the travel photography tours are interesting features of this session.

    All the travel photography specialising students need compulsory to undertake the National Travel Photography Tours. All National tours costs during the course need to paid by the students. You must pay for the course in the first month of taking it. 

    International
    Travel Photography Tour

    Photo tours are both educational and designed around getting you to some of the best locations in the world. We organize special international photo tours to the Masai Mara, Tanzania, Bhutan and Nepal

    All the Travel photography specialising students need to compulsorily undergo the National and Internation Travel photography tours.  All National and International tours cost during the course  need to be borne by the students. Tours cost need to be paid in the first month of the course. Students need to arrange their valid passport and visa by themselves.

If any repairs and maintenance of the same is required due to its damage or improper handling, then it will be borne by the students.

    DIPLOMA IN TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY : COURSE DURATION

    Candidates will be pursuing this course with the study structure implemented by the institute, from time to time. Particularly, there are instructional classes including the theory classes, practical classes, fieldwork, and Portfolio of altogether 10 months duration ie. 216 to 240 days.

    Students with at least 12th class/graduation can join for the course. Students must be at least 18 years old.

    Travel Photography courses after 12th

    10+2 pass (any stream- Science, Commerce or Arts) from a recognized board. Students who satisfy this criteria are eligible to pursue this course.

    Travel Photography Courses after Graduation

    Candidates with either 12th or +2 or any diploma or any graduation or any post-graduation are eligible for the course.
