The syllabus for wildlife photography includes macro photography course, animal photography course, birds photography course and nature photography course.   It covers the basics of a DSLR camera to the specialization in this field.

The course is structured with an aim to specialize students with the best wildlife photography classes, the digital image designing along with the basics and practical field experiences. Understanding, applying and experimenting are the core elements of the course.

This session gives an understanding of various types of DSLR cameras and lens. The working of a DSLR camera with an introduction to various modes in the DSLR camera is introduced here. The practical use of Priority modes is carried out from the very starting session. For instance, Aperture priority mode, Shutter Speed priority mode, program mode, other modes, with focusing arrangements and other factors are one of the important sessions here.

Hands-on practice of manual mode and its settings, along with an introduction to various DSLR camera accessories, different lenses and their uses are introduced here. The module also covers knowledge of filters in photography, types of filters, U.V filter, Polarizing filter, ND filter, close-up filters, and their uses.

Finally, this first module also covers the introduction and understanding of the equipment used in Macro Photography, Birds photography, and Wildlife Photography.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Introduction and fundamentals of wildlife cover the history of ethology, classification of animals, birds and insects that form the wildlife. The classes would ensure providing knowledge of species and subspecies and their behaviour towards different climatic conditions. The wildlife habitats, migrators, and rarely found species are also been studied.

Study of animal behaviour, ecology and evolution, origin, classification of mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles are carried out here.

The practical photography session of insects, birds and animal photography is an important factor here. The module of Wildlife Photojournalism provides wide options in terms of nature and wildlife. The visual understanding of the images is an important part of this session. The rules of photography, visual literacy, design elements, and design principles are introduced here. As a result, students achieve expressive photographs of wildlife.

The nature of light whether it’s natural or artificial has a greater significance in wildlife photography too. In this module, the details study will be carried out on the quality of light, it’s color and characteristics, the understanding and direction of natural light and its effect on images.

Also, the other factors covered are the spectrum of light, knowing the advantages and disadvantages of bright sunlight, introduction to backlighting, front lighting, etc… Understanding what are silhouettes and its application in wildlife photography.

The study is also carried out for artificial light or indoor light. The indoor set up for macro photography is learned here. The insect’s photography in artificial set up is arranged and practiced by students. This indeed makes them modify the light as per the situations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The module here benefits you with the understanding of videography. The recording of special moments and movements of wild animals, birds, and insects is a highlighting part of this session. Wildlife video journalism also helps one to document this nature and its beauty in their real habitat.

Videography and video editing classes are initiated here to develop student’s skills in video journalism. Understanding and applying the videography techniques using a DSLR camera, edit the same in terms of wildlife short story, wildlife video news story and wildlife documentary etc… are carried out in this session.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Introduction and Understanding of different formats and resolutions of photographs, for instance like Raw, JPG and Tiff. Understanding a histogram for the image and reading the image as per its histogram. Students are introduced with the understanding of Digital Image editing with software namely lightroom and photoshop.

The use of this software is taught practically by digitally editing the images with respect to framing and composition, colour correction and tricks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The ability to communicate through the language of English has great importance in wildlife photography too. To write the best caption, article and newsworthy coverage for one’s wildlife photography is, in fact, a must in this field. Indeed, it helps us to convey our wildlife photographs in writing. It, on the other hand, helps us to share our experiences and our point of view in an internationally understandable language for both wildlife photography and videography.

Hence, both National and International wildlife photography tours are arranged to various wildlife oriented places. Such as Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Antarctica, Ranthambore in Rajasthan, Gir Forest in Gujarat, Kabini and Bandipur in Karnataka, Chinnar in Kerala, etc…

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Every student has to put forth their ability to form the portfolio with a collection of their photos of wildlife photography. It covers various categories such as birds photography, insect photography, animal photography, travel and nature photography. Apart from this, they also need to have a portfolio in wildlife video journalism.

The students have to submit the same as per the submission date, submit format and specified criteria. Faculty will be available at the Academy to provide feedback and corrections throughout the session for the making of the portfolio. Faculty will assign and guide students for the project with necessary guidelines on shooting and editing etc…

The final portfolio will be analyzed by the panel of examiners/ juries, according to which the marks will be released.

PDAP program is involved with art and technical study, every candidate need to have anyone DSLR Camera and laptop for undergoing regular practical study. We suggest some cameras and lenses for your purchases although all of these are not compulsory. The list of equipment that you will need to have during the Course study, will be provided to you on admission or along with the confirmation letter.

Good & simple living is the key factors in residential life

The staying is provided on the campus surrounded by nature. Every student will be allotted with one cot. Please note the list of other necessary equipment that you need to bring along with you will be provided to the students along with the confirmation letter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How to Join?
Applying for photography admission is easier than you think. You may follow Online Procedure or Offline Procedure. For any of these procedures, just complete four simple steps and launch your future in art of photography.

Step 1: Know your Course and Gurukul
The first step in joining our family is to meet or have a telephonic conversation or WhatsApp chat with our Admission Counsellor/faculty, who will introduce you to our Gurukulam culture, eco-friendly campus and study structure. Listen closely to what you want from Institute, and will help you determine if this particular course and CREATIVE HUT is the right fit for you.

Step 2: Apply your Name
Candidate need to submit the filled application form with their below details either directly to institute office or send email to admission@creativehut.org
Copy of candidate’s 10th Certificate & Marksheet Copy of candidate’s anyone valid id-address proof (Aadhar card/Voters Id/Driving licence etc..)
Copy of any other qualification certificate (if available)

Step 3: Payment of Registration Fees
Once your documents are received and verified by the institute, you will then need to pay the non-refundable registration fees rs.6500/ either directly to the institute office or through NEFT/ net banking/ DD, etc… Institute Bank details will be provided to the candidate on request.

Step 4: Seat Confirmation
Finally, when you are with the above three steps, your seat is registered for the upcoming batch. You now become the part of Creative Hut and will receive a Confirmation Letter. Now, be ready with your tools and gearbox to shift to your new home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidate with minimum qualification of 10th from any state or central Board is eligible for the course.

Candidates with 12th / +2 / any diploma / any graduation / any post-graduation are also eligible for the course.

The Admission form has to be filled affixed with your recent passport size photograph and send it along with one attested photocopy of each of your id-address proof, date of birth proof and certificate of your latest educational qualification. Send all these documents along with the Demand Draft (DD) / the receipt of payment through bank / net banking of the course fees (either full fees or 1st Semester fees) to the postal address The Principal, Creative Hut Institute of Photography, Karimpany P.O, Mattakkara – 686564, Kottayam, Kerala.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Creative Hut is a Gurukul and hence institute takes care of all students staying together on one campus. One of the greatest advantages of learning in Gurukulam educational system is the residential facility on the campus. We provide food and accommodation to all its students and faculties on the campus premises. Separate hostel facility is provided for boys and girls.

The common cafeteria where food that tastes as one’s homemade food, the facility of the cot, shared rooms, sanitation, etc… are available for gents and ladies separately on the campus. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner are available for the students and faculties in the institute cafeteria.
