03 · The method

How is student work made at Creative Hut Academy?

Creative Hut Academy runs as a Gurukul, where guru and shishyas live and study together on one campus in Mattakkara, Kottayam. Batches are limited to 30 students, so every student gets practical production time, faculty feedback and real responsibility on projects. Students take key roles in planning, shooting and editing, guided by faculty including Abin Alex and Anu Joseph.

04 · Photography

What does a photography student finish the year with?

Two bodies of work in one specialisation. A photography portfolio made in the first half of the year, and a documentary film made in the second. Together they show the still frame and the moving story in the field the student wants to work in, from wildlife to fashion or photojournalism. The Professional Diploma in Photography and Cinematography is where this work begins.

05 · Student films

Did students really shoot and edit these films?

Yes. Every recognised film in the festival block above was shot and edited by the student named under it, with faculty guidance from Abin Alex and Anu Joseph.

06 · AI filmmaking

How are AI films made at Creative Hut Academy?

Students learn AI filmmaking alongside core filmmaking craft, across development, pre-production, production and post-production. The tools change as the industry does, so the craft comes first: story, framing, light, performance, sound and edit. AI filmmaking is taught in the Professional Diploma in AI Filmmaking and Digital Cinematography.
